1 Bedroom cottage, 1 shower room, sleeps 2-3 people – Self Catering. Booking for a minimum of 7 nights stay during high season and four nights during the off season period.
Stay in a beautiful one bedroom country cottage set in the grounds of a Georgian hunting lodge. The cottage is equipped with all mod cons, and has a traditional open fire. Linen included for minimum weekly stays and can be provided for shorter periods. In addition, there is the option to book the Garden Cabin, a fully equipped chalet containing kitchenette, shower room and bedroom, great for children and for those who want to enjoy a quirky home for a few days.
All Modern in Traditional Setting
Rock Cottage is a converted stable building with all modern conveniences on the inside, but preserving its historic character on the outside. It is situated in the walled courtyard/garden of a Georgian hunting lodge dating back to 1826. The property stands on 17 acres of garden, paddocks and heather covered hills. A short walk leads onto a hill, where the stunning views over Dunmanus Bay and the rugged landscape unfold and where a bench allows the visitor to sit and enjoy the magical sunsets. The setting of the entire property is unique and utterly charming. Tranquility is guaranteed, but it is also close to everything the area has to offer.

The cottage is comfortable, warm and everything has been very well thought through. There is everything one might wish to enjoy a peaceful holiday in a beautiful environment. Everything has been perfect and Mizen Head is gorgeous. Lots of great places to eat delicious seafood in the area and the landscapes are of astounding beauty! Highly recommended!

We are ideally suited for accommodation while exploring, cycling or walking the coastal route of the Wild Atlantic Way. Refer to this great website (and App) – www.wildatlanticway.com. With this link you can shortcut direct to the Mizen Head area of the Way. We are near Dunmanus, situated on R591. A Wild Atlantic Way route. Not far from the popular town Schull and 20 minutes drive from the Mizen Head Peninsula.

Bedroom 1 – 1 King Size Bed , 1 Single Bed Upstairs. In the cottage you will find a large open sleeping loft spanning the entire length of the building. Through the large Roof lights you can watch the star studded sky from your bed. The loft is furnished with a King size and a single bed. Hair dryer as well as a few little things to make you feel welcome are supplied. Bedlinen is supplied.
HomeAway Booking – 18 Dec 2015 We were delighted to spend over a week at Jackie and Jonathan’s cottage near Schull, West Cork, at Christmas time 2015. From the moment we drove up the driveway and spotted numerous sheep and the fairy-tale-like rolling terrain in front of their house, we knew we were in for a treat. It was so nice having the owners in residence on the property. We always think it is a major plus having the owners on-site, but it is a rarity. The cottage was such a welcoming place to come home to after our times away from it. We also enjoyed our times relaxing there. The fireplace was used every night. (The owners graciously and promptly refilled the firewood basket for us every morning).
Jackie was so helpful pre-trip and during trip. Pre-trip she provided names of restaurants that might be open during the holiday period. We felt well looked after by our hosts. They took time to chat with us and make sure all was well, checking in by email and offering tips about pubs with music, etc. This type of individualized service is priceless. We would highly recommend the cottage to anyone.

Rock Cottage overlooks the walled courtyard of the main house. It has its own patio and garden equipped with everything you need for warm summer days. Unlike most self catering holiday cottages Rock Cottage is also a working farm with lots of animals roaming around.
The ideal location to explore the South West coast of Ireland and come back to your home away from home.
